About Me

My Photo
My journey into travel and cruising was purely by accident! This was 10 years ago when I turned up at the doorstep of Cruise.co.uk eager and ready to work - I was told that I would be loading booking forms and undertaking general administration duties - within 18 months I had travelled to Florida, Hawaii and the Mediterranean and seen that cruising was the most exciting part of travel there was. My very first cruise experience was on a 2* all inclusive cruise ship called the Thomson Topaz that some may still remember - this really opened my eyes to cruising - luckily my second cruise was the Norwegian Star to Hawaii so I kind of went from one extreme to the other! In 10 years the cruise industry has exploded and I'm looking forward to what the next 10 years in cruising brings.

Cruise Port Parking...Southampton - What Are The Options?

Lots and lots of cruises depart from Southampton & Dover - P&O, Cunard & Fred Olsen being the main cruise lines, but this year we also have increased presence with Princess, Royal Caribbean, MSC and even Oceania have sailings from Dover.

So who do you park your car with at these ports?

Southampton

C&PS Parking

The main car park company in Southampton is CPS (car park services), they offer parking next door to the cruise ship, you have to pre book your car with CPS either on the website or by phone - when you book they will take you car details and the details of the cruise ship you will be departing on, a parking pass and confirmation will then be send to you in to post or by email, depending on how you booked.

Cruise Parking Limited
This is an off site car park in Southampton which is safe and secure, the car park is 15-20 minutes from the cruise ship terminals, you would drive directly to the car park where you would hand in your keys and have a complimentary transfer to the ship. On your return there will be a representative from Cruise Parking Limited ready to take guests back to collect their cars.
When booking this car park we would usually book this for our guests, we would take the car details, book the car in and issue a voucher to take with you to the car park - this would have all the necessary directions on.

  1. I Have booked parking through a company called Parking4cruises and made a payment through paypal. They have sent no information to me and only have mobile numbers which they are not answering. Can anyone tell me if they are a valid company or have I just experienced a scam.

  2. If you book with Cruise Parking Ltd becareful not to be ripped off by ABP parking who will make you beleive you have booked with them as you pull into the parking places at the ship dropping off point - they will take your car - give you a receipt - then on collection after your cruise they will demand payment for the parking that they provide - but you had not booked with them - fraud is getting money by deception - this is what happened to my wife & 1 so it was a case of finishing our holiday by being a victim of a rippoff

Avoid the ABP scam - be very careful who you leave your car with even when you have shown them your parking reservation booking details they rely upon the fact that you trust in them as they are telling you that you are in the right place and as they are in a uniform you trust in them which is how the scam works
